¿ä¾à: Different from the conventional X-ray sources, a synchrotron radiates X-rays with well-defined polarization. They can couple with the orbital moment of electrons through a selection rule and they are very useful to identify the electron orbitals with specific local symmetries. In this lecture, I would like to introduce the polarized X-rays from the synchrotron radiation and the research activity using them on the magnetic materials.
